Shout to the Nails

It was in 2011 when I was invited to cover a newly owned “Nail Art” Business of a friend (of a friend). Photos will be featured in a magazine…who wouldn’t jump and shout “Y-E-S.!! , right? Although this project was free, I’ve had so much fun. And believe me, this was my turning point to seriously think about going solo and focus on Portrait Photography rather than doing much of Landscape Photography. Someone told me, this is the easiest. To me, there is no easy thing or a difficult one for that matter. So long as your heart is in it, everything is possible. This was also the time when I started collecting some equipment for indoor shoots. I got addicted to on line purchases, although manageable because one should know where to get the cheapest deals *wink*

This same experience taught me that some people can and will take advantage of you, especially when you are your sweetest and coolest. Well, it’s not at all cool. And I figured, I’ll get over it because after that night, I will never be seeing these people again (well, only some of them). Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hold grudges. Some people just have the sharpest tongues they don’t know when to “shut it”.

I guess what I am saying is that, in anything we do, we meet different people. If we keep our focus, we’ll get to where we want to be. It doesn't make us horrible people if we decide to choose the people we want to be around with. That does not define us. ‘capiche’?

So shout out to all aspiring ‘p-shooters’…just keep at it and keep shooting. It takes a lot of practice, passion, inspiration and good people around! :)
